This resolution exempts Mama Bread, located at 1600 Woodland Street in Nashville, from the minimum distance requirements of Section 7.08.090.A of the Metropolitan Code to obtain an on-sale beer permit. Adopted by the Metropolitan Council on April 15, 2025, after a public hearing and approved by the Mayor on April 16, the resolution authorizes a waiver under Section 7.08.090.E, which allows restaurants and retail food stores to bypass the standard 100-foot setback from residences, schools, parks, daycares, and religious institutions upon Council adoption of a resolution. Rodrigo Valle filed the application with the Metropolitan Beer Board seeking this exemption because Mama Bread lies within 100 feet of a one-family residence. Section 7.08.090.E provides the statutory mechanism for such exemptions without requiring a state on-premises liquor license. Following adoption, the Metropolitan Clerk will transmit the resolution to the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Beer Board to finalize the permit process.
