The Metropolitan Council of Nashville has approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Metropolitan Beer Permit Board and the Metropolitan Department of Codes Administration to improve enforcement of alcohol-related regulations and noise ordinances. Under the agreement, two full-time Beer Board employees will be designated as compliance inspectors, working under the authority of the Codes Department. The Codes Department will allocate $171,100 to fund these positions. The MOU is effective upon approval and remains in place until modified or terminated, with annual reviews ensuring regulatory compliance.
This MOU enhances regulatory enforcement by improving coordination between agencies responsible for alcohol licensing and noise control. It ensures better compliance, particularly in high-traffic commercial and entertainment districts.
