The City Council adopted an Ordinance of Intention to renew the Lincoln Heights Industrial Zone Business Improvement District (BID), a property-based district established under the Property and Business Improvement District Law of 1994. The District was originally established on August 15, 2000, and is now entering its fourth operational term. The renewal is for a ten-year period, beginning January 1, 2026, and concluding on December 31, 2035. The District aims to provide supplementary services such as Sidewalk Operations and Security, District Identity, and Administration and Contingency, funded by assessments levied on property owners within the district. The total assessment for the ten-year term is estimated at $3,098,025, with the first year's annual assessment projected to be $213,856. The Historic Lincoln Heights Industrial Zone Economic Development Corporation will continue to administer the District's programs. The City Clerk's preliminary report confirmed sufficient property owner support through petitions (50.13% of proposed first-year assessment revenue) to initiate the formal establishment process.
