The Los Angeles City Council adopted the Planning and Land Use Management Committee Report, denying an appeal and upholding the Los Angeles City Planning Commission's approval of a Conditional Use Permit and Site Plan Review for a creative office project in the Playa Vista neighborhood. The project involves the construction of a 135-foot tall, approximately 199,500 square foot office building, which will include office space, a cafe/restaurant, and retail areas. It also entails the demolition of an existing 23,072 square foot office building and related structures, while retaining and integrating another 87,881 square foot office building at 12541 Beatrice Street. The development will provide 865 parking spaces across subterranean and above-ground levels. The decision also adopted the Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the project, despite an appeal from Karney Management Company challenging its environmental adequacy regarding traffic, noise, and aesthetics.
