The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning (DCP) is authorized to accept a $6,803,759 grant from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) under the Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) 2.0 Subregional Partnership Program. This funding facilitates planning and housing-related work, aiming to accelerate housing production and meet state and regional housing, transportation, equity, and climate change goals. The grant supports three main projects: developing an ADU Home Ownership Ordinance and objective standards for multi-family infill housing; implementing the Housing Element through new housing programs, ordinances, and a tracking system for housing production; and planning for Housing and Mobility, including a Street Dedication and Improvement Nexus Study and a Street Design Manual Web Portal. Funds will cover in-house staff costs, contractual services for consultants, and public outreach efforts. The work is scheduled to be performed between July 30, 2024, and June 30, 2026.
