The Housing and Homelessness Committee approved a motion requesting the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) to report on performance measures for the new Bureau of Homelessness Oversight. This Bureau will assess the impact of the City's investments in citywide outreach, interim housing, permanent supportive housing, and time-limited subsidies. The LAHD is instructed to report within 30 days on the Bureau's performance measures, data sources, reporting plan to the Homeless Strategy Committee and Council, necessary data systems access, and a plan for using this data to improve housing outcomes and system efficiency for people experiencing homelessness. Additionally, the City Attorney is requested to prepare an ordinance to exempt the Bureau's new positions and functions from Executive Directive Three (ED 3), and for the City Administrative Officer (CAO) and LAHD to submit reports to the Mayor and Council simultaneously for Bureau-related matters.
