City Council approved the transfer and appropriation of $225,000 from the Council District 2 portion of the Council Street Furniture Fund to complete Phase 2 of the Chandler/Strohm Pedestrian and Bike Access Project. The funds will be allocated across three accounts: $51,975 for Hiring Hall construction, $22,275 for related benefits, and $150,750 for construction materials within the General Services Fund No. 100-40. The action finalizes the project budget for sidewalk improvements, bike lanes, curb ramps and signage along Chandler Boulevard and Strohm Avenue in Council District 2. The motion further authorizes the General Services Department to implement any corrections or clarifications to fund or account numbers to effectuate the transfer. This phase will address gaps in the existing active‐transportation network by constructing ADA-compliant pedestrian pathways and protected bicycle facilities. The improvements will also enhance visibility, wayfinding, and safety for all users. Councilmember Adrian Nazarian introduced the motion, which was seconded by Councilmember Heather Hutt.
