The Los Angeles City Council adopted a report from the Planning and Land Use Management Committee, authorizing the Director of Planning to execute contract amendments with eight on-call consultants for historic preservation services. These amendments extend the contract term by 36 months, from January 2, 2025, through January 1, 2028. The maximum compensation amount for these services will be increased by $1.82 million, raising the total aggregate contract ceiling from $1.38 million to $3.2 million. The services include historic resources surveys, Historic Preservation Overlay Zones (HPOZ) Program work, Mills Act Historical Property Contract Program tasks, historic contexts development, nominations for designation, and HistoricPlacesLA management. This is the first amendment for seven of the consultants (ASM Affiliates, Inc., Chattel, Inc., Environmental Science Associates, Galvin Preservation Associates, Inc., Historic Resources Group, Page & Turnbull, and Rincon Consultants, Inc.) and a second amendment for Architectural Resources Group, Inc. The original contracts were based on a 2017 Request for Qualifications to establish a list of on-call consultants for historic resource review and management.
