The Los Angeles City Council is considering a motion to release the property at 10822 W. Wilshire Boulevard, currently occupied by Westwood Presbyterian Church, from a Covenant and Agreement recorded in 1982. This covenant imposed development restrictions on the property. The release is sought because a new 12-story Eldercare Facility, Belmont Village Senior Living Westwood II Project, was approved on this site and an abutting property. Previous council actions include environmental clearance approval in 2021 and the denial of a Vesting Tentative Tract appeal in 2022, which led to the approval of a merger and re-subdivision of six lots into three, accommodating the Eldercare Facility, Sanctuary, and Childcare Facility. The land use entitlements for the Eldercare Facility Unified Permit, Conditional Use Permit, Design Review, Project Permit Compliance, and Vesting Tentative Tract Map were upheld by the Court of Appeal after being challenged.
