The Los Angeles City Council authorized the sale of City-owned property at 710 East 111th Place to Kedren Community Health for the development of a new mental health facility known as the Children’s Village. The sale, valued at $8.7 million, was facilitated without cost to Kedren Community Health, in recognition of their commitment to providing mental health services estimated at $71.3 million annually to the South Los Angeles community. Kedren, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, will use the site to expand mental health and healthcare services as part of a facility project funded through the California Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program.
This sale supports expanded access to critical mental health services for children and families in South Los Angeles, addressing community health needs and leveraging state infrastructure funding.
