The Los Angeles City Council denied the CEQA appeal filed by Supporters Alliance for Environmental Responsibility (SAFER), sustaining the Los Angeles City Planning Commission's determination to approve a Categorical Exemption for the project. This development involves demolishing a two-story single-family dwelling and a four-unit apartment building to construct a new five-story, 60-foot tall residential building. The project includes 109 dwelling units, with 15 units reserved for Very Low Income Households and one unit reserved for an Extremely Low Income Household. The building will feature a total of 66,040 square feet of floor area, open spaces including private balconies, a fitness center, a courtyard, a multipurpose room, roof decks, and one subterranean level with 57 vehicle parking stalls and 88 bicycle parking stalls.
This project supports housing expansion, including affordable units, in Los Angeles while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations under CEQA. It aligns with citywide housing goals and contributes to the community’s residential needs.
