The Los Angeles City Council has approved the construction, lease, and operation of residential interim housing/navigation centers at 600 East 116th Place and 503 San Fernando Road, as well as Tiny Home Villages at 7724 Van Nuys Boulevard and 8358 San Fernando Road. These projects, aimed at providing shelter for those experiencing homelessness, are statutorily exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under various provisions. The new housing initiatives will provide a total of 436 beds, addressing the urgent need for safe, temporary accommodations while complying with state and local environmental regulations. The funding for these projects comes from the Emergency Stabilization Beds Grant and other homelessness assistance funds.
