The Los Angeles City Council has approved a mixed-use development project at 1330-1360 N. Vine Street, involving a two-acre site in the heart of Hollywood. The project offers two options: a Residential Option and an Office Option. The Residential Option includes a 33-story building with 429 residential units, 36 of which are designated for Very Low Income households, a 55,000 sqft grocery store, 5,000 sqft of retail space, and adaptive reuse of six historic bungalows. The Office Option features a 17-story high-rise with 463,521 sqft of office space, 11,914 sqft of restaurant space, and adaptive reuse of six historic bungalows. Both options involve the demolition of 32,844 sqft of existing commercial and vacant residential uses. The project also includes a haul route for exporting up to 321,060 cubic yards of soil. The Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been certified, and a Statement of Overriding Considerations has been adopted.
This development is significant as it transforms a key site in Hollywood, providing much-needed housing, including affordable units, and contributing to the economic vitality of the area through new office and commercial spaces. It aligns with the city's goals for sustainable and strategic urban development.
