The Jacksonville City Council approved a three-year extension to the Final Order issued by the Downtown Development Review Board (DDRB) for the Daily's Mixed-Use project. This project, located at 632 W. Forsyth Street, 618 W. Forsyth Street, 0 W. Bay Street, 0 W. Bay Street, and 60 N. Broad Street, received final development, special exception, and deviation approvals on August 24, 2023. The original expiration date was August 24, 2024, which was extended by DDRB staff to August 24, 2025. This City Council action further extends the expiration to August 24, 2028. The extension is necessary due to economic challenges, including inflationary pressures and supply chain disruptions, which have delayed the project's progress. Daily's, the developer, will use this additional time to finalize design, procure materials, complete construction plans, and secure business partners for the project. The Council noted that the city's zoning code does not provide other administrative extension mechanisms.
