Ordinance 2025-410 addresses changes to the City of Jacksonville's boards and commissions. It dissolves the Context Sensitive Streets Standards Committee and the Tower Review Committee. Their functions are absorbed by the Subdivision Standards and Policy Advisory Committee and appropriate City Council committees. The bill amends various sections of the Ordinance Code, including Chapter 32 (Public Works Department) and Chapter 656 (Zoning Code), to reflect these dissolutions and reallocations of duties. The Rules Committee initiated this review to assess whether these committees continued to provide valuable service to the City. The new Subdivision Standards and Policy Advisory Committee will have 13 members, including council and mayoral appointees, and six designated City staff members from various departments, including Transportation Planning, Environmental Quality, JEA, Public Works, and Engineering and Construction Management. The ordinance establishes a prospective effective date of September 1, 2025, for the code amendments.
