The City Council of Jacksonville approved Ordinance 2025-310-E, rezoning approximately 3.54 acres located at 10070 Allene Road. The property, owned by TZ Homes, LLC, was reclassified from Residential Rural-Acre (RR-Acre) District to Residential Low Density-50 (RLD-50) District. This change allows for less dense residential development than typical suburban densities but more than rural zoning. The rezoning was applied for by Josh Cockrell and received advisory recommendations from both the Planning and Development Department and the Planning Commission. The Council found the rezoning consistent with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan and not in conflict with city land use regulations. The ordinance clarifies that the rezoning does not exempt the property from other applicable local, state, or federal laws, and all other permits must be obtained before development commences.
