Jacksonville City Council approved Ordinance 2025-167 to rezone approximately 15.87± acres at 5355 Pickettville Road in Council District 10 from Residential Rural-Acre (RR-Acre) to Industrial Light (IL) District pursuant to Small-Scale Amendment L-5998-24C of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan. The rezoning aligns the Future Land Use Map with the zoning code for the subject property owned by Smart and Son Investments, LLC. The change permits light industrial uses including warehousing, distribution, light manufacturing, research and development, and accessory office functions under IL standards. The rezoning becomes effective 31 days after companion amendment adoption or upon final order if challenged. All other local, state, and federal permits must be obtained before development.
