This ordinance adopts a small-scale amendment to the 2045 Comprehensive Plan for a 15.87± acre property located at 5355 Pickettville Road, East of Old Kings Road in Council District 10, Jacksonville, Florida. The amendment changes the future land use designation from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Light Industrial (LI). The property is owned by Smart and Son Investments, LLC, and the application (L-5998-24C) was filed by Michael Sittner, Esq. The Planning and Development Department reviewed the application and recommended approval. Public hearings were held by the Planning Commission, Land Use and Zoning (LUZ) Committee, and the City Council. The City Council approved the amendment with a 19-0 vote on May 13, 2025. The LUZ Committee also approved it 6-0. The ordinance is designed to promote appropriate land use and address future development needs within the City of Jacksonville. The effective date of the plan amendment is thirty-one days after adoption, if not challenged.
