This ordinance rezones approximately 17.21± acres located at 11759, 11777 and 11811 Armsdale Road in Council District 8 from Residential Rural-Acre (RR-Acre) to Residential Low Density-40 (RLD-40). The subject property, owned by Leonard Liddell, Cassandra Meyer, Timothy Liddell and Brian Liddell, was applied for rezoning by Cyndy Trimmer, Esq., and is legally described in Exhibit 1 (dated March 5, 2025) and graphically depicted in Exhibit 2. The Planning and Development Department, the Planning Commission, and the Land Use and Zoning Committee each reviewed the application and made advisory recommendations in support. The City Council found the rezoning consistent with and supportive of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan goals, objectives and policies, and not in conflict with any portion of the City’s land use regulations. The ordinance provides a disclaimer that the rezoning does not exempt the property from any local, state or federal laws or permit requirements. Upon signature by the Council President and Council Secretary, this quasi-judicial action becomes effective for future development.
