Ordinance 2025-159-E, introduced by Council Member J. Carlucci and amended by the Land Use and Zoning Committee, modifies Sections 250.1201, 656.312, 656.313, 656.320, and 656.340 of the Jacksonville Ordinance Code. The primary amendment prohibits mobile food dispensing vehicles that employ an open flame, propane, or combustible fuel from preparing, distributing, or selling food or beverages as a food service business on any property in commercial, industrial, and Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning categories that dispenses gasoline or other flammable petroleum products for commercial sale. This prohibition applies to operations within 300 feet from a pump or other dispensing mechanism, but it does not extend to adjacent properties regardless of their distance. The ordinance also includes general amendments to the mentioned sections of the Zoning Code related to commercial and industrial use categories and planned unit developments, aligning them with this new prohibition. The ordinance was enacted on April 8, 2025, with an effective date of April 18, 2025.
