An ordinance was enacted to rezone approximately 14.38 acres located at 7820 and 7960 Arlington Expressway in Council District 1. The property, owned by 8000-1, LLC and 8000 Realco, LLC, was reclassified from Commercial Residential and Office (CRO) District, Commercial Community/General-2 (CCG-2) District, and an existing Planned Unit Development (PUD) District (2020-295-E) to a new Planned Unit Development (PUD) District. This new PUD designation permits multifamily dwellings with integrated commercial and office uses, as detailed in the Arlington Expressway PUD. The rezoning aligns with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan's Future Land Use Map series. The City Council approved the rezoning on March 25, 2025, following recommendations from the Planning and Development Department, Planning Commission, and Land Use and Zoning Committee. The rezoning's effectiveness is contingent upon the adoption of a companion Small-Scale Amendment.
