The City Council of Jacksonville, Florida, approved an ordinance to rezone approximately 0.40 acres of land from Residential Low Density-60 (RLD-60) to Residential Medium Density-B (RMD-B) District. The properties, located at 1665 9th Street West and 1910 Grunthal Street, are owned by Rebuilding Ex-Offenders Successfully Through Opportunities Rehabilitation & Education, Inc. and A.J. Anderson Construction, LLC. The rezoning was recommended by the Planning and Development Department, Planning Commission, and Land Use and Zoning Committee to ensure consistency with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan. The City Council voted 17-0 to approve the rezoning on March 25, 2025. The rezoning is contingent on the adoption of a companion Small-Scale Amendment and will not become effective until 31 days after its adoption, or if challenged by the state land planning agency.
