The Jacksonville City Council approved the rezoning of approximately 237.46 acres owned by Westland Timber, LLC and AP ETDE, LLC. The property, located southwest of the intersection of I-295 and SR9B, was reclassified from Commercial Community/General-1 (CCG-1) District to Planned Unit Development (PUD) District. The new PUD zoning permits a wide array of uses including office, institutional, commercial, multiple-family, entertainment, communication towers, and recreational uses as described in the E Town West PUD. The approval came with conditions, including the requirement for a traffic study during Civil Site Plan Review, establishment of parking reduction percentages by the Planning and Development Department once infrastructure is available, and limitations on project identity signs to a maximum height of 65 feet and 300 square feet in area. The Land Use and Zoning Committee recommended approval (7-0), and the City Council approved the rezoning by an 18-0 vote.
