The City of Jacksonville approved the rezoning of approximately 7.12 acres at 0 State Road A1A, owned by Carriere Family Limited Partnership, from Residential Medium Density-C (RMD-C) District to Planned Unit Development (PUD) District. The new PUD will generally permit garage, storage, and washing uses as described in the Mayport Luxury Storage PUD. The application, L-5981-24C, was filed by M. Hayden Phillips, Esq. The rezoning was found consistent with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan and did not adversely affect the orderly development, health, safety, natural environment, or adjacent properties. The City Council's approval followed public hearings and recommendations from the Planning and Development Department, Planning Commission, and Land Use and Zoning Committee. The ordinance's effective date is contingent upon the adoption of a companion Small-Scale Amendment and no challenges from the state land planning agency.
