The City of Houston approved an ordinance authorizing a Subrecipient Agreement with Healthcare for the Homeless - Houston (HHH) to provide $700,000.00 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program – American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. This program will support HHH's Street Medicine program, which delivers vital wraparound services directly to approximately 200 individuals experiencing homelessness annually. Services include primary and urgent medical care, substance use treatment, mental health support, HIV and STI testing. The program operates in partnership with The Way Home, Houston's homeless response system, and utilizes the Coordinated Entry (CE) system for housing assessments. The funding consists of $630,000.00 from HOME-ARP and $70,000.00 from CDBG, allocated over two years for both program and administration costs. The initial agreement period is from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, with an option for renewal. HHH has been a recipient of City funding since 2003.
