The City Council approved the abandonment and sale of Ira Street, from N. Eastwood Street west to its terminus. This decision involves two abutting property owners: Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) and David Hernandez. BBP will receive 2,926 square feet of street easement in exchange for conveying 2,926 square feet of fee-owned land for a trailhead and a 2,213 square feet hike and bike trail easement to the City. This is part of the Buffalo Bayou East Master Plan and a Tri-Party Agreement with Harris County and the City of Houston. David Hernandez will purchase 2,924 square feet of street easement for $66,535.00 and will also convey two storm sewer easements to the City, totaling 2,059 square feet and 134 square feet, respectively. The total value of the abandonment and sale to David Hernandez is $107,106.00.
