The City Council adopted an ordinance appropriating $114,975.00 from the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund – Ad Valorem Tax for an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This agreement is for the 2026 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and will fund traffic safety projects on Chimney Rock Rd, Dairy Ashford Rd, and Fondren Rd. Of the total amount, $109,500.00 is allocated as payment to TxDOT, and $5,475.00 is for CIP Cost Recovery. The project aims to improve highway safety in District F, District J, and District K.
