The Houston City Council consented to the addition of two tracts of vacant land, totaling 11.478 acres, to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 460. The land is proposed for single-family residential development. The District, created in 2005, currently encompasses 761.1084 acres and is within Houston's corporate limits. The Utility District Review Committee evaluated the application concerning wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services. Wastewater treatment is provided by the City's Chocolate Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant, and potable water by the City. The tracts are primarily within the 100-year (58%) and 500-year (59%) floodplains, with Sims Bayou as the nearest major drainage facility. All construction plans for water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water systems within the District must be approved by the City prior to construction. The Utility District Review Committee recommended approval of the petition.
