The Houston City Council renewed the establishment of a Special Minimum Lot Size Block (SMLSB) for the 700 block (north side) and the 800 block (north and south sides) of Wendel Street, situated between Julian and Reagan Streets in Houston, Texas. This renewal maintains the previously established minimum lot size of 5,000 square feet per lot within these areas. The application for this renewal was initiated by the property owner of 709 Wendel Street. As no protests were filed within the required 30-day notification period, the Houston Planning Commission was not required to take further action before the application proceeded to the City Council. The Planning and Development Department recommended approval, noting that the neighborhood's character and lot sizes have remained consistent since the original SMLSB ordinance (2005-728) was enacted in 2005. The decision was formally adopted on July 8, 2025.
