The City Council awarded a $12,070,330.00 contract to Industrial TX Corp. for the Kingwood Central Waste Water Treatment Plant filter and bar screen replacements. The work includes UV disinfection system upgrades for channels 1 and 2, headwork modifications, West Mix Liquor splitter box, filter basin modifications, return lift station upgrades and bypass provisions. Bids were solicited in accordance with Texas bid laws; Industrial TX Corp. submitted the lowest of two bids and will also manage contingencies and CIP cost recovery totaling $1,207,033.00. The project complies with the City's Hire Houston First and Pay or Play ordinances. The contractor’s proposed MWBE participation meets 12% MBE and 7% WBE goals, with a combined 10.62% MBE and 4.38% WBE commitment. No significant fiscal operating impact is expected.
