The City Council adopted an ordinance establishing a Special Minimum Lot Size of 6,250 square feet for the 700 block of East 12th ½ Street, south side, between Beverly and Studewood Streets. This follows an application initiated by the owner of 712 East 12th ½ Street, Lot 3, Block 33, which included written support from owners of 75% of the block and no filed protests within the 30-day notification period. No action by the Houston Planning Commission was required under Section 42-197 of the Code of Ordinances. The Planning and Development Department had recommended adoption after mailing notifications and confirming the absence of protests. The measure aims to preserve lot sizes and neighborhood character by preventing subdivisions below the specified minimum.
