City Council approved an ordinance to enter into a Professional Engineering Services Contract with Brown and Caldwell for the Capacity Remedial Measures Plan (CRMP) CIP Package 3 covering CD Area 2 and 3. The $29,576,079 contract includes Phase I preliminary design, Phase II final design, Phase III construction phase services and additional services to develop mitigation recommendations and improvements to the wastewater collection and transmission system with known capacity restraints. The work is required to maintain compliance with Houston’s wastewater consent decree with the EPA and TCEQ and to target the reduction of sanitary sewer overflows. The project is located at 100 Japhet Street in the 77020 ZIP code. The funding includes $28,167,694 for contract services and $1,408,385 for CIP cost recovery with a standard 26% M/WBE participation goal met by a 26.01% plan.
