The City Council approved an ordinance to enter into a Professional Engineering Services Contract with Binkley & Barfield, Inc. for the design and construction phase services of a 66-inch water line along Victory Drive from Wheatley Street to the Acres Homes Pump Station. The project, part of the Surface Water Transmission Program, will replace and upgrade transmission and distribution lines with all related appurtenances. Under the contract, Binkley & Barfield will provide Phase II final design, Phase III construction phase services, and additional services for a total appropriation of $2,472,135.75, including $2,045,576 for basic services and $308,839 for additional services. The appropriation is funded through the Water and Sewer System Consolidated Construction fund and includes $117,720.75 for CIP cost recovery. The consultant’s MWBE participation exceeds the 26% goal at 41.5% through seven firms.
