The City Council approved an ordinance consenting to the addition of 0.6170 acres of vacant land to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 61 in its extraterritorial jurisdiction. The tract, proposed for future commercial development, is located near Franz Road, Burton Park Lane, Mason Manor Drive, and North Mason Road. The Utility District Review Committee evaluated wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, and stormwater conveyance, confirming service by the Williamsburg Regional Sewage Authority Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Williamsburg Regional Water Plant. The site is not within the 100-year or 500-year floodplain and drains to Mason Creek in the Addicks Reservoir watershed. By consenting, the District acknowledged that all plans for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems must be approved by the City prior to construction.
