The City Council approved an ordinance consenting to the addition of 10.708 acres of vacant land to Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 10 to extend its water and wastewater services for planned commercial development. The annexed tract is located near Huffmeister Road, Skinner Road, Little Cypress Creek, and Barker Cypress Road within Houston’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. Northwest Harris County MUD No. 10 will provide potable water and wastewater treatment from its existing facilities, and the site is outside the 100- and 500-year floodplains. By adding the land, the district remains under the City’s oversight, requiring City approval of all future water, wastewater, and stormwater plans. The Utility District Review Committee recommended approval based on adequate public service provisions.
