The City of Houston has approved a petition to annex two tracts of land, totaling 7.0542 acres, into the Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 15. The district, originally created in 1978, currently consists of 563.8715 acres and is within Houston’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. The annexed land, proposed for commercial development, is located near Spring Cypress Road and North Eldridge Parkway. The annexation ensures the provision of potable water and wastewater treatment services via the Northpointe Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The district also maintains stormwater infrastructure, with drainage flowing into Cypress Creek. The Utility District Review Committee has recommended approval, affirming compliance with municipal infrastructure standards. The newly added tracts are not located within the 100- or 500-year floodplain.
This annexation expands access to municipal services for future commercial development, enhancing economic activity in Northwest Harris County. It also ensures infrastructure planning aligns with Houston’s regulations while maintaining city oversight through its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
