The City of Houston has consented to the addition of 34.1226 acres of vacant land to Porter Municipal Utility District. The land is proposed to be developed for multi-family residential and commercial purposes. The annexation tract is located near Auburn Fields Drive, FM 1314, and US Highway 59. Wastewater treatment will be provided by the Porter Municipal Utility District Wastewater Treatment Facility, which also serves Porter Special Utility District and Woodridge Municipal Utility District. Potable water is provided by Porter Special Utility District. The nearest major drainage facility is Ben’s Branch, which flows into the San Jacinto River and finally into the Houston Ship Channel. The annexation tract is not within the 100- or 500-year floodplain.
This annexation supports the development of multi-family residential and commercial properties in the Porter area, ensuring that proper wastewater treatment and storm water management systems are in place. It contributes to the sustainable development of the area while adhering to the City of Houston's environmental and infrastructure standards.
