On June 24, 2025, the Denver City Council approved an amendment to the professional services contract with The Salvation Army, adding $8,006,556 for a new total of $16,013,112 and extending the contract term by twelve months to December 31, 2025 to support family shelter intake, case management and navigation, and daily operations at the Tamarac Family Shelter. The funding will serve up to 205 families in the city’s non-congregate emergency shelter, providing three core components: access point and intake analysis, housing-focused case management, and housing navigation. The Salvation Army will oversee day-to-day shelter operations including cleaning, maintenance, three meals per day, conflict resolution, case planning, needs assessments, employment and education support, assistance with vital documents, and transportation aid.
