This legislation authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to modify and increase funding for the Professional Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Services agreement with Gilbane-Smoot Columbus a Joint Venture for the New Municipal Court Building project. This is Modification No. 2, which allows Gilbane-Smoot to engage trade contractors (structural steel, curtain wall, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing) to assist the design firm, Moody Nolan, in the design details and construction document stages. The contractors will provide accurate estimating and scheduling information, as well as cost-saving ideas and improved constructability reviews. The additional funding authorized is $841,900.00 for the CMaR services, plus $2,000.00 for prevailing wage services to the Department of Public Service, totaling $843,900.00. The original contract was authorized on July 10, 2023, and Modification No. 1 was approved on December 9, 2024. The total revised contract amount, including all modifications, is $1,853,077.00. The modification was deemed necessary to maintain the project schedule and minimize delays for this large, complex, multi-phased project.
