The Columbus City Council authorized the Director of the Department of Development to amend an existing Enterprise Zone Agreement. The amendment facilitates the assignment and assumption of the agreement from BGO Charter Street Storage Owner LLC to ARIS Charter Street, LLC. The original agreement, approved by Ordinance No. 1896-2023 on July 24, 2023, granted a 75% for 10-year real property tax abatement. This incentive was tied to a $48.5 million capital investment, including $45.7 million in real property improvements for a 179,170 square-foot Class A industrial cold storage facility. The initial enterprise, BGO Charter Street Storage Owner LLC, committed to creating 22 new full-time positions with an annual payroll of $915,200. The transfer of ownership from BGO Charter Street Storage Owner LLC to ARIS Charter Street, LLC was recorded on March 31, 2025. ARIS Charter Street, LLC has agreed to assume all terms and commitments of the original agreement, including an updated Economic Development Incentive Application and a $500 amendment fee. The ordinance requires ARIS Charter Street, LLC to sign the First Amendment within 90 days of the ordinance's passage.
