The City Council authorized a second amendment to the existing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Agreement with OhioHealth. This amendment removes several parcels from the original OhioHealth TIF, including Franklin County Tax Parcel ID No. 010-126692, to facilitate the creation of new TIFs for two separate projects along the Northwest Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor. Specifically, this ordinance establishes the new 'Olentangy 315 North TIF' at 3654 Olentangy River Road, which provides a 100% exemption from real property taxation on improvements for up to 30 years. Property owners within this new TIF are required to make service payments in lieu of taxes. The portion equivalent to the school district's original real property taxes will be distributed to Columbus City Schools, while the remaining portion will be deposited into the new Olentangy 315 North TIF Fund to finance public infrastructure improvements benefiting the area. This action is intended to support higher density residential and mixed-use developments along the Northwest BRT Corridor and provides indirect support for new housing units for OhioHealth employees.
