This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Recreation and Parks Department to enter into a contract with Marker, Inc. dba Marker Construction for the Case Road Park Project. The contract is for $8,000,000.00, which is part of an anticipated total budget of $18,000,000.00 for the park's construction. This funding allows site construction to commence in Fall 2025. The project involves developing a 58-acre former sheep farm into a community park featuring sports fields, playgrounds, sports courts, walking trails, meadows, and naturalized areas, along with associated parking and infrastructure. A City of Columbus Forestry Outpost will be located in the northeast corner, and an area for a future Columbus Metropolitan Library branch is reserved in the northwest. The project aims to provide a major greenspace for the underserved Northwest Community, which has a high density of housing. The contract with Marker, Inc. was awarded after a competitive bidding process, identifying them as the lowest and most responsive bidder.
