The Columbus City Council authorized the Director of Development to enter into a grant agreement with Columbus Housing Partnership, Inc. (dba Homeport) for up to $400,000 to support the development of "The Northam," a 60-unit affordable apartment project located at 5430 North Hamilton Road. The four-story building will offer a mix of 25 one-bedroom, 28 two-bedroom, and 7 three-bedroom units, serving families with income levels ranging from 30% to 70% Area Median Income (AMI). The total estimated development cost for the project is $21.1 million, financed through public and private sources. The ordinance also allows for reimbursement of construction expenses incurred prior to the execution of a purchase order, starting January 1, 2023. Homeport, through its subsidiary Hamilton Place Housing, Inc., will serve as the managing member and will provide supportive services to residents.
