The City of Columbus Council has authorized an amendment to the Jobs Growth Incentive Agreement with Goosehead Insurance Agency, LLC. This first amendment revises the project site from 4131 Worth Avenue to 4215 Worth Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Originally approved via Ordinance No. 0750-2021 on April 5, 2021, the agreement provided an annual cash payment based on a percentage of income tax withheld from new employee payroll for up to six years. The initial agreement was in consideration of Goosehead Insurance Agency's proposed investment of approximately $1,335,000.00 in leasehold improvements, machinery, equipment, and furniture to expand operations at 4131 Worth Avenue, where they initially leased 16,027 square feet. The company also committed to creating sixty net new full-time permanent positions with an annual payroll of approximately $4,600,000.00. After about four years, the company found the layout at 4131 Worth Avenue unsuitable and, on April 14, 2025, terminated the lease and simultaneously entered into a new lease for a nearby 7,159 square-foot office space at 4215 Worth Avenue. This ordinance formally amends the agreement to reflect the new operating address and parcel number, ensuring the continuity of the incentive terms for the project at its updated location. The remaining terms of the original Jobs Growth Incentive Agreement remain in full effect.
