The City Council of Columbus approved an ordinance to vacate an unnamed 8-foot alley located in Wooley’s Addition, north of Camden Avenue and east of St. Clair Avenue. This 1,000 square foot (0.023 acre) portion of alley was requested for vacation by Camden Land Holdings, LLC to clear title and combine it into an adjacent parcel for redevelopment. Previously, a quitclaim deed was issued but was deemed insufficient by the Franklin County Recorder’s Office, necessitating this vacation ordinance. The Department of Public Service agreed to vacate the right-of-way, subject to the retention of a general utility easement for existing utilities. The action was declared an emergency to prevent redevelopment project delays. No funding is required by this legislation. The alley is described as being in Township 1 North, Range 17 West, Quarter Township 4, United States Military Lands, and is part of a larger 1.441-acre tract conveyed to BILDSTEN LAND HOLDINGS, LLC.
