The City Council of Columbus approved an ordinance to appropriate funds within the Federal Transportation Grants Fund and authorize the Director of Public Service to contract with Strawser Paving Co., Inc. for the Resurfacing-Urban Paving-FRA-23-15.30 Indianola Avenue project. The project, costing up to $2,115,416.28, includes resurfacing Indianola Avenue from Hudson Street to Oakland Park Avenue, roadway pavement repairs, spot replacement of curb and sidewalk, construction of ADA curb ramps, installation of curb extensions, associated storm water collection improvements, and the installation of bike lanes in both directions within existing pavement limits. Strawser Paving Co., Inc. was awarded the contract as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for $1,923,105.71, with an additional $192,310.57 for construction administration and inspection services. Funding comes from both the Federal Transportation Grants Fund ($819,582.80) and the Streets and Highways Bond Fund ($1,295,833.48). The ordinance also authorizes repayment of any unused grant funds.
