City Council adopted a resolution of support for the Economic and Housing Opportunity Phase Two of the Zone In Initiative. The resolution endorses key priorities and strategies to modernize Columbus’s zoning code—targeting mixed-use corridors, industrial and warehouse areas, and business and institutional campuses—to expand housing and job growth citywide. It directs the Department of Development’s Planning Division to launch community engagement this summer 2025 and to draft amendments to the Columbus Citywide Planning Policies, to be renamed the Columbus Growth Strategy. This policy framework will guide forthcoming zoning code updates and ensure reforms are rooted in a cohesive, community-informed land use vision.
