A Council Variance was approved for Wayne Webbs Bowling Center at 3224 S. High Street to allow accessory external storage of recreational vehicles and equipment. The 8.39-acre parcel is currently zoned CAC (Community Activity Center District), which, along with the previous C-4 zoning, does not permit such external storage. The applicant, Webb Entertainment, LLC, sought the variance due to insufficient interior space for repair equipment and the need to store RVs used for business travel and to host professional bowling tournaments. Staff recommended approval, noting consistency with the Scioto Southland Area Plan and Columbus Citywide Planning Policies regarding adequate screening. The Far South Columbus Area Commission also recommended approval with an 8-0 vote. The external storage is intended to be an extension of the existing business, not an independent campground.
