The City of Columbus has approved the annexation of 0.86± acres from Blendon Township following an application by Ciminello Land Co. LLC. The annexation was previously approved by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners on September 17, 2024, and formally accepted by the Columbus City Council on February 5, 2025. As stipulated in the agreement, the annexed land will be transferred from Blendon Township to Montgomery Township to align with city limits. Public safety services are available, though the Fire Division noted a need for additional staff to cover the area. Water service remains under Delco unless modified by agreement, and sewer connections would require a privately funded extension.
This annexation expands Columbus' jurisdiction and may lead to future development opportunities. It also aligns municipal boundaries to facilitate streamlined governance and service provision for the newly incorporated land.
