The City Council has approved a $5 million grant agreement with Healthy Linden Homes III LLC for the development of 23 units of new construction rental and rehab housing in the 43211 area. This project is aimed at increasing the stock of high-quality, affordable housing options for families earning no more than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) in Linden. The properties will consist of infill development, with most of the units being modular homes built by Unibilt Industries. These homes are designed to blend seamlessly with the existing neighborhood fabric and will be delivered approximately 75% complete. The project also includes a range of supportive services for residents, enhancing access to health, education, and social services.
This initiative is critical in addressing the pressing need for affordable housing in Columbus, particularly in low-income communities like Linden. By fast-tracking the construction of these homes, the city is helping to provide stable, high-quality living environments for families who are most in need, while also contributing to the overall revitalization of the neighborhood.
